The Plant HR Head will provide end-to-end HR leadership across four manufacturing plants, including greenfield projects, ensuring statutory compliance, industrial harmony, manpower readiness, and scalable HR systems. The role is accountable for operational continuity, risk mitigation, and workforce productivity, enabling plant commissioning, expansion, and stable manufacturing operations.
Job Description
Multi-Plant HR Leadership & Workforce Readiness
- Own HR leadership for four plants, ensuring consistent HR governance and execution across locations.
- Drive manpower planning and hiring aligned to production targets, capacity ramp-ups, and expansion timelines.
- Ensure timely availability of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workforce to support uninterrupted plant operations.
Statutory Compliance & External Liaisoning
- Own all statutory compliances across plants, including audits, inspections, and regulatory filings.
- Manage internal and external liaisoning with labor departments, inspectors, contractors, and local authorities.
- Ensure zero non-compliance, penalties, or operational disruptions arising from statutory lapses.
Employee Relations Management
- Ensure a stable, compliant, and disruption-free employee relations environment across all manufacturing plants, safeguarding business continuity and productivity.
- Proactively manage the full ER lifecycle, including grievance redressal, disciplinary actions, domestic inquiries, and corrective interventions, with fairness, speed, and legal rigor.
- Anticipate risks through early warning signals, workforce sentiment analysis, and plant-level diagnostics, and deploy preventive strategies to mitigate escalation, unrest, or operational disruption.
Talent, Performance & Plant Culture
- Drive performance discipline, skill development, and workforce productivity at plant level.
- Embed a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Strengthen supervisory and frontline leadership capability through structured people practices.
HR Operations, Contract Labour & Governance
- Oversee payroll, contract labour management, vendor compliance, and statutory audits across plants.
- Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures across all locations.
- Maintain governance rigor while enabling operational flexibility.
Risk Management & Leadership Advisory
- Act as a trusted HR advisor to Plant Heads and Operations Leadership on people, compliance, and IR matters.
- Identify workforce, compliance, and IR risks early and deploy mitigation plans.
- Support leadership in decision-making with practical, plant-floor-aligned solutions.
Greenfield Project HR Execution
- Lead end-to-end HR setup for greenfield plants, including manpower planning, recruitment, policies, statutory registrations, and governance frameworks.
- Support plant commissioning with time-bound workforce onboarding and readiness.
- Establish scalable HR systems capable of supporting future expansion.
Profile Description
Qualifications & Experience
- 12–18 years of Plant HR experience in manufacturing-intensive environments.
- Proven exposure to greenfield project HR setup and plant expansions.
- Strong hands-on experience in statutory compliance, labor laws, and external liaisoning.
- Demonstrated capability in industrial relations and contract labour management.
- High plant-floor credibility with a practical, execution-driven leadership style.
