Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Telecom Engineer to join our Network Performance and Service Optimization team. The ideal candidate will have an extensive experience in Mobile Core Network technologies, strong troubleshooting and analysis abilities, and a proven track record of working on various core network elements.
Job Description
- Supporting Network Quality management and service optimization initiatives.
- Performing analysis of critical customer issues and network performance discrepancies that affect customer experience and mobile network quality.
- Lead service validation tasks within Core Networks to ensure quality. Writing test
- strategies, plans and coordinating/managing test execution in person and remotely.
- Skilled in network auditing, diagnostic tools, and packet capture/analysis.
- Analyze Mobile Core Network KPIs to detect bottlenecks and degradations. Report network optimization opportunities Team Lead.
- Conduct end-to-end trace analysis of significant customer and network issues to determine root causes and facilitate resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze fault trends and implement preventive measures.
- Support business and other technical teams during projects, trails, UAT and BAU tasks.
- Night shift or weekend work will be required during project implementation or key deployments, upgrades or migration related tasks.
- Offer technical leadership and mentorship to Junior Quality and Performance team members
Profile Description
Qualifications
- Bachelor or higher degree in Electronics, Telecoms or Computer Science
Specific skills & experience:
- Experience in working for a Mobile operator, MVNO, MNVE or a Major Telecom supplier.
- Extensive knowledge on CS (MSS/MGW, SBC, STP, SMSC, HLR, IVR) & PS (SGSN/SGW, PGW, PCRF, DNS, AAA) &
- Good knowledge on IMS (CSCF, MRF, TAS, ePDG) network nodes
- Possess core skills in Network Quality Assurance, troubleshooting, optimization and fault resolution.
- Comprehensive knowledge on end-to-end Voice, SMS and Data service call flows.
- Good Knowledge on key protocols e.g. GTP, Gi, Sy, Gx, Gy & Ro, MAP, SIP, RTP, SMPP etc.
- Network trace analysis of critical network infrastructure to debug issues.
- Working Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
Good to have
- Knowledge of 3GPP, IETF and GSMA standards and architectures is desirable
- Knowledge of Physical SIM, eSIM electronic profiles and BAP testing
- Database experience in Oracle, SQL Server, or other commercial/open-source database platforms
- System Admin skills of PL/SQL, Batch, UNIX & MS Office
- Shell script or other programming language knowledge will be advantageous.
